Conditions We Treat
Chilliwack Chiropractic uses everything from full spine diversified techniques to sacro-occipital techniques to kinesio taping to diet and exercise to help our clients feel better. Conditions we treat include:
X-rays can play a vital role in diagnosis and treatment of a chiropractic patient. All initial visits in a chiropractic office begin with a consultation and examination. This process tells us most of the information needed to make a good diagnosis. X-ray examination allows us to see the spinal structures, make a definitive diagnosis and know which joints are misaligned. Furthermore, x-rays also help to evaluate the biomechanics of the body. We look for asymmetry and abnormal curvatures (scoliosis), and obtain an accurate measurement of a leg length, pelvic level, shoulder level and head level. Not all spinal conditions require x-rays in order to be treated by a chiropractor.
We are also looking for the main condition that a chiropractor treats: a subluxation.
When a vertebra (bone) in the spine moves out of its proper alignment and causes pressure to be placed on the spinal nerves exiting from the spine, this is called a subluxation. Not only do these subluxations cause the patient to experience symptoms, but also they can cause problems that the patient is not fully aware of. Headaches can be caused by subluxations in the cervical spine and backaches can be caused by misalignments of the spine.
When a misalignment (subluxation) is identified on x-ray film, we are able to fine tune our adjustments to precisely where the body needs them. This relieves pain, restores spinal mobility and facilitates healing.
Custom orthotics may look like normal insoles, but these biomechanical devices are specifically designed to align your foot and ankle, correcting any imbalance you might have (much like how glasses correct your sight). This reduces the stress walking or standing has on your body. Because these appliances are made from imprints of your feet, the orthotics will fit precisely to you in a way your standard insole found in stores can’t.
If so, then you might benefit from custom orthotic appliances. Chilliwack Chiropractic is proud to work with The Orthotic Group to bring you precise-fitting orthotic solutions. Call us to find out more.
