Bird Dog Exercise

This is a great exercise to strengthen and stabilize the lower back and pelvis. The exercise is simple. Extend one arm out in front of you with the opposite leg back. The hard part is keeping a neutral spine and pelvis; that is, flat with no twisting, no high shoulder or high hip. This may require some help for a while finding the neutral position.

Sumo Squats

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, toes pointed 45 degrees out, arms out in front of you. Drop into a ‘knees wide’ squat, dropping the bum to 90 degrees.
